Stump Grinding Debris Removal in Littleton & Denver Metro
Nothing Left Standing But Your Lawn. We leave your yard clean, or leave you the mulch. Your choice.
What stump grinding leaves behind
Grinding a stump turns solid wood into a pile of chips, shredded roots and soil. That pile is almost always bigger than the stump looked. Wood expands as it's ground up, and the grinder pulls soil up with it. A mid-size stump can leave a mound several feet wide, and the hole underneath is full of loose material.
You can leave that pile as mulch, have us haul it away, or have us remove it and fill the hole with topsoil and seed it.

Our debris removal service
When you add debris removal, we:
Rake the grindings out of the hole and off the surrounding lawn.
Haul the material away from your property.
Leave the area raked clean, ready for you to fill or for our soil & seed service.
Debris removal is available on every job. Add it when you send your photo for a quote. Leaving the mulch instead costs nothing extra.
Or keep the mulch
Stump grindings make decent mulch once they've aged. Fresh chips tie up nitrogen in the soil as they break down, so they're better spread on top of garden beds and paths than mixed into soil where you're planting.
If you'd like to keep them, tell us where you want the pile and we'll leave it there at no extra charge.
If the stump was an ash tree, follow your city's guidance on moving ash material, since emerald ash borer can spread in ash wood.

Debris removal FAQ
Is debris removal included in the grinding price? It's an add-on. Leaving the mulch costs nothing extra.
How much material will there be? Usually more than people expect. Grinding expands the wood and pulls up soil, so even a mid-size stump can leave a mound several feet wide.
Can you take away the tree trunk or branches too? Our debris removal covers the stump grindings. Ask about anything else when you send your photo.
Can you fill the hole after hauling the grindings away? Yes. That's our soil & seed service: topsoil, leveled and seeded.

Pair it with soil & seed
Hauling the grindings away leaves a hole where the stump used to be. If you want the spot to look like the rest of your lawn, add our soil & seed service: we fill the hole with quality topsoil, level it and seed it.
Grass usually comes up within 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the season and watering. If you'd rather lay sod or plant a new tree there, we can fill and level the spot without seeding it.
