Stump Grinding in Denver, CO

Nothing Left Standing But Your Lawn. Serving every Denver neighborhood. Owner-operated and fully insured.

Denver stump grinding, done by the owners

We grind stumps all over Denver: established neighborhoods like Washington Park, Platt Park, Park Hill and the Highlands, homes in southwest Denver near Bear Creek, and newer areas like Central Park. Most Denver yards are a short drive from our base in Littleton.

The owners show up to every job. You'll talk to the same people from your first photo to the final cleanup.

We grind stumps 6 to 12 inches below grade, call Colorado 811 before every job, and can haul away the grindings or fill and seed the hole.

Denver trees and stumps we see

Denver's older neighborhoods have a big, aging tree canopy, and a lot of those trees are now coming down. The stumps we grind most often here:

Ash. Emerald ash borer was confirmed in Denver in 2025, and ash trees line many Denver streets and backyards.

Silver maple and cottonwood. Fast-growing trees with big surface roots that can lift sidewalks and flare well beyond the stump.

Siberian elm. Common in older yards and alleys, and often removed as it declines.

Spruce and pine. Evergreens near foundations and fences that have outgrown their spot.

Surface roots add time, so mention them when you send your photo.

Denver tree lawns and backyard access

Many Denver homes have a tree lawn, the strip between the sidewalk and the street. Trees there are in the public right-of-way, and the City of Denver's Office of the City Forester regulates them. If your stump is in the tree lawn, check with Denver Forestry before you schedule.

Detached garages, alleys and fenced backyards are common in Denver. Our equipment fits through standard gates, so we can usually reach backyard stumps without taking down a fence panel. If your gate is narrow or the stump is up steps or on a slope, mention it when you send your photo.

Emerald ash borer in Denver

Emerald ash borer has been spreading through the Denver Metro. It was first confirmed in Littleton in 2023, then in Centennial and Lakewood in 2024, and in Denver in 2025.

Ash trees make up a big share of Denver's tree canopy, so many homeowners are now deciding whether to treat or remove them. That decision is one for a certified arborist. If you have ash trees, learn how to identify them and look for thinning canopies, D-shaped exit holes in the bark and heavy woodpecker activity.

Once an ash tree is down, we grind the stump below grade so you can replant. See our ash tree stump removal page for replanting tips and links to Colorado State Forest Service resources.
